Timing in PROSPECT
Pre-operativeBefore the surgical incision.
Intra-operativeFrom incision until wound closure.
PostoperativeAt or after wound closure.
Time limitsPROSPECT sets no fixed time window. Give analgesics pre- or intra-operatively so they are effective in the early recovery period. Where a guideline states specific timing or duration, it is shown on that procedure page.
